Account Director

Are you an experienced, strategic, motivated and enthusiastic Account Director – who is passionate about producing world class work for a diverse range of communication businesses? Do you love working in a fast paced, dynamic and collaborative agency environment?


Bastion Effect is looking for an Account Director to join our Melbourne office. You will report to the GM and work closely with the wider team across Bastion Effect’s Melbourne and Sydney offices.  


To manage and grow a portfolio of consumer clients, crafting campaign strategies that deliver results and exceed expectations. You’ll be involved in driving the success of our consumer business unit and be given a superstar team to manage.

This is a key role in our long-established Consumer Division, where we work with leading global and Australian consumer lifestyle brands. Drive results

  • Craft campaigns for our clients that are innovative and market leading
  • Develop strategies that get our clients noticed
  • Develop news angles that get the attention of media and influencers
  • Think creatively about how to get results when none are coming easily

Manage accounts

  • Manage the strategic implementation of a portfolio of clients, efficiently and within budget
  • Oversee a team to implement client strategies, ensuring delivery remains on track
  • Liaise with clients to understand their feedback and measure results against their expectations
  • Handle client enquiries in a timely and confident manner
  • Develop and set KPIs for all campaigns
  • Lead and attend regular work in progress meetings
  • Identify better ways of working to make accounts more efficient and strategies more effective

  • Gain a strong understanding of your clients’ objectives, industry and business in order to best understand how to help them
  • Provide proactive ideas and inspiration to clients on a regular basis
  • Establish positive working relationships with clients, consistently displaying integrity and respect
  • Display an understanding of how plans will affect clients, and acknowledging and acting when change is required
  • Strive to improve responsiveness to clients across the team
  • Produce world-class work
