Digital & Social Designer

Bastion Effect, part of Bastion Collective, is a creative communications agency that delivers exciting and engaging multichannel communications campaigns across Australia. We’re currently working with a global tech brand and looking for a Digital & Social Designer to join the team as a dedicated resource to own the image & innovate all aspects of our creative output.

The role

We need a dedicated and motivated digital designer to create imaginative digital & social assets across the gamut of our client’s business including Commercial (B2B), Consumer (B2C), Education and gaming areas. 

As the Digital & Social Designer, you will be brand custodian; setting and overseeing design consistency, style and tone for all creative. Pushing the envelope in best in class creative, you will enjoy working within a high performing team environment but will also be able to work autonomously as the primary designer within the team.

Key responsibilities

  • Design and develop innovative assets for social & digital channels, including images, video (not mandatory) and graphics.
  • Owning the social asset design process - providing high level management to projects from concept to production and delivery within deadlines
  • Act as a brand custodian within the business overseeing design consistency, style and tone for compliance with brand guidelines.
  • Work closely with Social Director, Business Director and broader team to develop cohesive social & digital media marketing strategies leveraging best practice
  • Work with wider social team to execute social best practice across channels
  • Provide industry & competitor creative insights
  • Develop and execute content at live events
  • Maintain and develop brand asset libraries
  • Confidently present creative concepts and strategy to clients and the business

Key requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years demonstrated design experience either in an agency or client side, within a marketing team environment
  • Proven track record creating and delivering engaging content
  • Solid understanding of social media & digital marketing
  • Experience in Adobe CS

Our ideal candidate

  • Experience in creating and publishing digital assets for multiple channels, specifically Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Linkedin, Youtube and display.
  • Portfolio with B2B & B2C social creative
  • Expert in design tools including Adobe CS Suite
  • Capable at developing multiple formats including Gif’s, Cinemagraphs, motion graphics and digital banners
  • Experience in photography and retouching
  • Excellent communication skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Strong soft skills and an aptitude for colleague and client interaction
  • An awareness of emerging creative trends
  • Strong time management skills and ability to work autonomously
  • Experience in video editing will be highly regarded
  • Photography skills also highly regarded
