BASTION COLLECTIVE, DIGITAL PRODUCER

Bastion Collective is looking for a Digital Producer to join our growing team, based in Melbourne.

You will play an important role in helping our clients succeed with significant high-profile Digital activity. Your role will see you collaborating with Bastion’s multi-office award-winning Digital and Social team, working together to develop and execute innovative Digital campaigns, projects and ongoing client programs.

The Digital Producer must be passionate about Digital and take a consumer-first approach to projects, as well as being proactive and up to date with the digital industry, latest developments, user experience best practice and agile project management. Most importantly, you will have a love for effective user experience planning and take the lead in championing this on the projects that you produce.

BASTION REPUTATION MANAGEMENT, SENIOR MEDIA AND COMMUNICATIONS TRAINING CONSULTANT

Bastion Reputation Management is looking for a Senior Consultant - Training, to join our team in Melbourne.

Our ideal candidate will bring an innate curiosity and understanding of the communications world, a strong interviewing style and a determination and commitment to fully understanding an issue and all its potential implications on all audiences before providing advice.

You will have a passion for good communication and a commitment to teaching how to communicate in a way that is consistent with organisational values. You will also be someone who prioritises substance over style but can still provide people with confidence and a process whether communicating with media or with their employees, customers, peers or the wider community.

You will be the type of person who never turns up without doing all the research and preparation to ensure the client gets the best outcome, not just an outcome.

It goes without saying that you are a person who can manage competing deadlines and priorities while continuing to contribute positively to RM’s culture as a leader and teacher. You are a person who is adept at reading a room and adjusting a training framework to ensure it succeeds in providing a personalised approach.

You will report directly to the GM Training but will also work closely with the Managing Director, General Manager and senior staff of Bastion Reputation Management in contributing to the steady growth of a company with an expanding blue-chip advisory, training and crisis simulation clientele.

Our ideal candidate is someone who has a minimum of eight years’ experience in journalism at a senior level and preferably with experience in electronic broadcasting or a corporate communications roles.

Our ideal candidate will:

  • Have a minimum of eight years’ experience working in journalism or broadcast media where interviewing is a daily practice or with experience in a dynamic media or corporate communications role
  • Have previous training experience (desirable)
  • Have a lifelong curiosity desire to learn along with an ability to question and an even longer (yes it is deliberate) ability to listen and analyse is mandatory
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication
  • Have a strong sense of curiosity and an excellent sense for news - know where and how a story will evolve next
  • Have the ability to research and conduct interviews on a number of fronts – both print and electronic
  • Be able to develop and then clearly articulate strategic ideas and messages

REPUTATION MANAGEMENT, SENIOR ACCOUNT MANAGER - CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS

Bastion Reputation Management is looking for an exceptional corporate communications professional to join its growing team at Senior Account Manager level.

The expectation is that this role will be filled by someone who has a minimum of five years’ experience in corporate affairs, communications, or media relations roles.

We’re looking for naturally curious, creative and analytic minds to be able to contribute to strategic projects that benefit our clients.

Experience working on fast-moving or complex issues or crises will be looked upon favourably.

A strong focus is on working closely with our strong bench of senior consultants and helping to guide and support a high-performing and skilled team.

Our ideal candidate must be able to manage competing deadlines and client priorities and perform well under pressure while continuing to contribute positively to RM’s culture.

We have a strong values-led approach and believe our philosophy drives our work, our relationships with clients, and our respect for each other.

Specific expectations:

Client strategy: Understand and contribute to the development of a strategic approach to a client project. Lead client discussions and be able to work across the team to implement the strategy. Demonstrate sound corporate affairs instincts and be able to transform thinking and ideas into direction and support for clients including identifying when to introduce new or senior members of the team to a client and manage issues. Need to be able to think laterally and demonstrate confident counsel.

Client service: Is proactive with clients. Works closely with the the General Manager, Head of Client Strategy and client project teams to ensure that the client - and delivering work on their behalf - is paramount. Guides junior team members and prioritises client service - open, honest, proactive and regular communication.

Quality output: Consistently produces strategic materials and written documentation of the highest quality. Exemplary writing skills. Strategic communications materials should show clarity of thought and a logical structure. This role should help to set and drive the standard for the team.

Team and process: Work collaboratively with senior management and the Senior Client Director to deliver high quality work on time with minimal inputs. Identify opportunities to delegate down and manage junior workloads. This role is vital in contributing positively to the high-performing yet supportive and collaborative team culture.

Business strategy and innovation: Understand, support and proactively promote Bastion Reputation Management’s business strategy and initiatives including our full suite of training and professional development services. Contribute ideas for refining the service offering to ensure we are consistently improving the quality of our work with and for clients.

New business development: Be able to identify new business opportunities and project manage new business processes with the broader team - from briefing, strategy and creative development, through to presentation. This includes involving senior strategic leads and also knowing how to delegate and manage team workloads.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • A communications, business, public relations, journalism, policy or equivalent qualification is highly regarded but not a prerequisite.
  • A minimum of five years’ experience working in a corporate affairs, communications, or a media relations role.
  • Experience working in both agency and in-house roles is highly regarded. As is hands-on experience working on large scale and complex operational issues and crisis that have had reputational impacts.

Specific expectations:

Client strategy: Understand the proposed approach for an RM client. Be confident to challenge and question this based on own insights.

Bastion Effect is looking for a talented and driven Account Manager to join our Melbourne team.

Bastion EBA is looking for a Senior Account Manager to join our Strategy team in Melbourne.

Our ideal candidate is a driven, ambitious and pragmatic individual who uses data and strategic thinking to problem solve at any given opportunity.

We’re looking for someone who is at home working with some of the leading brands and rights holders within the Australian marketplace to assist them in developing new and innovative ways to connect with their audience and generate revenue. Whether that be through sponsorship, events, stadium economics or broadcast, our ideal candidate will work with our clients to help them think about what’s possible, not necessarily what’s been done before.

You work hard, love to have fun and are passionate about the role of emotional marketing and sponsorship within the marketing mix.

You are interested in working with brands end-to-end, from formulating the strategy to negotiating the rights and overseeing the leverage campaign.
